Recurrent Energy – Supervisor, Operations Control Centre (OCC)
Primary function : oversee and supervise control room operators and drive day‑to‑day operations in the OCC. Responsibilities include integrating new facilities into the OCC monitoring system, training staff, participating in NERC audits, and contributing to continuous documentation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Oversee staff – supervise all Control Room Operators, ensuring engagement, career growth, and a culture of success.
- Operational duties – supervise real‑time operations of utility systems, ensuring rapid actions to events and adherence to protocols.
- Continuous improvement – implement procedural and process improvements, collaborating with stakeholders to increase efficiency.
- Compliance – apply best practices, benchmarks, and methodology to maintain regulatory and company standards; support NERC and international standards.
Functional Competencies
Leadership and team management : lead, mentor, and motivate a team; provide guidance, training, and performance feedback; foster safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Problem solving : identify problems, analyze solutions, and decide on the best course of action.Deep understanding of Power Generation and Protocol : ensure staff have necessary knowledge and tools to monitor and operate power generators.Project management skills : manage projects requiring effective organization of resources for smooth workflow.Compliance : perform duties in accordance with NERC Reliability Standards and support compliance with international standards.Qualifications
2‑5 years of experience in the renewables market.3 years of Engineering, Operations, IT or other utility experience.BA / BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline, or equivalent experience / training.Knowledge of operating systems, network topology, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).Experience with SCADA or Automation systems preferred.Intermediate to moderate knowledge of Electric Distribution Operations, Distribution Automation, or Distribution Engineering.Knowledge of telecommunications systems desired.Self‑managing, strong problem‑solving, and analytical skills.Fluent English speaker with strong written and verbal communication.Proven self‑starter capable of working flexibly and autonomously.Track record of communicating complex data succinctly and maintaining situational awareness of the Bulk Electric System.Experience protecting critical cyber assets; adherence to CIP standards and ISO 9001 quality management.Participation in NERC and equivalent international training and audits.Root cause analysis, continuous improvement reporting, and documentation in ISO auditing contexts.Adherence to health, safety and environmental standards; support global OCC initiatives.Willingness to assist in root cause analysis of system disturbances across global operations.Other duties as assigned.Other Requirements
