You’ll work closely with GIS and IDD team members to help maintain spatial datasets, support field and office teams, and assist in building tools, maps, and dashboards that improve project delivery.
This role is ideal for a student enrolled in a GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Engineering, or related program who wants hands-on experience with enterprise GIS, CAD/BIM integration, and real‑world construction workflows. Additionally, we are looking for a student who is available for a 6 month minimum term.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Support the GIS team with preparing, maintaining, and updating geospatial datasets across projects.
- Assist in building and running FME workspaces for basic ETL tasks (training provided).
- Help integrate CAD/BIM files (DWG/DGN/RVT/IFC) into GIS datasets, including georeferencing and schema checks.
- Create and update web maps and simple dashboards using ArcGIS Online/Enterprise.
- Prepare field maps and support mobile GIS tools (Field Maps/Survey123).
- Help with spatial QA/QC, data cleanup, and metadata entry.
- Conduct research, data collection, and documentation to support GIS standards and workflows.
- Provide general support to project teams and participate in team meetings.
- Occasional local site visits within Ontario (optional/learning‑focused).
What You Bring to the Team:
- Enrollment in a GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related diploma/degree program.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro and basic geospatial concepts (projections, editing, geodatabases).
- Interest in learning enterprise GIS, CAD/BIM workflows, and ETL tools.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and strong organizational skills.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to FME, Python, or ArcGIS Online/Enterprise.
