West Regional Accounting Leader, reporting directly to the VP Finance - Corporate Controller, plays a critical role within our finance team.

This position oversees the accounting operations and reporting for one of Creation Technologies' largest regions, including integration of newly acquired sites operating on diverse ERP systems.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of four skilled accountants, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting across the region and its business units.

Additionally, they will drive the integration of acquired business units by identifying necessary process, system, and reporting enhancements.

This role requires close collaboration with finance and non-finance leaders to support strategic initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accurate accounting of all transactions within the West Region and HQ, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
  • Collaborate with other Regional Accounting Leaders and Finance Directors (FP&A) to standardize data presentation across Business Units, enhancing process consistency.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of dedicated accountants, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Communicate accounting issues clearly to internal stakeholders, ensuring business relevance and understanding.
  • Continuously evaluate the control environment and closing procedures to improve data accuracy and reporting timeliness.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly management reports.
  • Contribute to finance and corporate projects, including business unit integration and the rollout of the Oracle ERP system to newly acquired sites.

Experience

  • Solid understanding of IFRS and its application in a complex business environment.
  • Proven experience in strategic partnership with senior business leaders, with a comprehensive grasp of business operations.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, with a history of enhancing financial performance understanding and communication.
  • Demonstrated success in training, mentoring, and leading a high-performance accounting team, emphasizing mentorship.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems is preferred, indicating a readiness for technological and process changes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, Accounting major is preferable
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) with 3 years post designation experience is a must

n compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $105k-$125k CAD per year.

Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and benefits. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, location, and shift.
