The Position : Alpine Canada Alpine (ACA) is the national governing body for Ski Racing in Canada and home to three of Canada's most exciting snow sports : Alpine, Para-Alpine and Ski Cross Racing.

The organization has a strong Board and senior management leadership that are committed to a vision for Canada to be a World Class ski racing nation inspired by the passion and performance of Canada's ski teams.

Our mission is to increase Canadian Ski Racing podium performances AND inspire growth in participation and fans.

We are currently seeking an organized and knowledgeable individual to join our organization in the role of Senior Manager, Domestic Competitions.

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Domestic Sport, the Senior Manager, Domestic Competitions is a member of the Domestic Sport Group.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with all service channels within ACA to ensure all ACA events are delivered at the same high standard of excellence and consistency across the country.

The role will serve as the main point of contact and provide ongoing customer service for domestic competitions, both in Alpine and Ski Cross.

Duties :

Events included within this portfolio are as follows :

• NorAm Cups hosted in Canada (Alpine / SX)
• National Championships - SX / Alpine
• ACA U16 Regional Championships - Alpine

Event Strategies, Volunteer Recruitment, and Budget Planning

• Lead the development of a multi-year hosting strategy for all of ACA's National Championships (Alpine, SX) and align with the SVPDS
• Develop annual events calendar which identifies ACA supplemental staffing support required in situations of potential event overlap for execution and delivery of events.
• Lead the development of a strategy to recruit and manage volunteers and or contract support to assist in the delivery of ACA events in collaboration with marketing to the extent of their capacity.
• Lead the development and execution of Event Agreements for all ACA events (with the exception of Alpine WC and SXWC) that are aligned with the SVPDS
• Lead budget planning and delivery, in collaboration with host LOCs where appropriate.
• Develop, lead and implement and deliver a volunteer gifting program for ACA events.

Host Race Organizing Committee Relations

• On an annual basis, update the ACA Event Manual for host ROC's as it relates to ACA events to be utilized as a resource to assist with event delivery and to clarify expectations of ACA and of the ROC.
• Provide leadership and support to ROCs as an active member in host ROC meetings leading up to ACA events (or purposefully delegating this to other member of the Sport Development team)
• Provide on-site support for ROC's when and where necessary
• Utilizing the SnowReg platform, build a volunteer registration process for ACA events
• Facilitate the formation of a volunteer ?National Race Administrators? working group to be utilized as a resource and education source for development and support of race administration for ACA events.

SX National Training Center

Ensure the financial viability around ACA's National Training Center at Nakiska. This includes exploring grant and public funding opportunities.

Government Grants

• Lead the submissions for Event hosting grants, and look to maximize support through available provincial and municipal grant applications for all ACA events
• Complete all accountabilities, including post event reports for approved ACA grants within identified timelines.
• Financial reconciliation with all event ROC's and distribution of grant monies

Equipment

Lead in the development and implementation of an event equipment strategy

Competition Calendaring

Work in collaboration with ACA Sport Development staff, ACA athletic staff and the PTSO's to develop both short term and long-term competition calendars inclusive of NAC, FIS and ACA championships for both Alpine and SX events

Working Conditions

• Full Time position with seasonal domestic travel required
• Significant seasonal outdoor work in winter conditions
• May require lifting, walking and skiing
• Overtime may be required during peak periods to be taken as time in lieu as scheduling permits and as approved by SVPDS
• Reporting to Calgary Head Office

Employment Requirements

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel and Teams
• Shows strong collaboration and communication skills to work with internal and external partners including International coaches and organizations
• Demonstrates high level of attention to detail
• Displays evidently the characteristics empathy, patience and flexibility
• Proven time management and change management skills
• Ability to quickly develop proficient knowledge of FIS rules, documents and quotas for competitions
• Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian sport system is an asset
• Must be fluent in English. Ability to communicate in French is an asset

Additionally, the candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with experience driving results in complex workplace and stakeholder environments.

Advanced ability working with MS office applications is required.
