Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Services, the Senior Human Resources Consultant works collaboratively with the Human Resources team to provide strategic advice, guidance, recommendations and advanced leadership support to the management team and employees.
This role will have a client centered approach using a single point of contact HR service delivery model, with a focus on Labour and Employee Relations, Recruitment and Retention, and Total Rewards.
This role provides advanced consultative services and is a strategic partner to an assigned portfolio that is responsive, effective, timely, progressive, and proactive in establishing strong management partnerships and strategic alignment to meet all HR service needs.
Project management and delivery will form another component of this role and will be instrumental in developing and implementing leading edge Human Resources processes, programs and strategies.
What must you have?
- Degree in Human Resources Management or related field required.
- CHRP designation required.
What else do you bring?
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive and advanced human resources experience in employee relations, recruitment, and total rewards.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a unionized environment, ideally within a hospital.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant employment legislation, including Employment Standards Act, WSIB, Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Labour Relations Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Experience working in a consultative service delivery model.
- Demonstrated experience in employee / labour relations and conducting workplace high energy level, self-directed, ready to take initiative and / or to be responsive and proactive in all aspects of Human Resources Services.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with clients and union partners.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Superior problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
