Northern Lights Public Schools is located in the heart of Alberta’s Lakeland region, which offers residents a multitude of outdoor recreation opportunities and stunning displays of the Aurora Borealis.

The division is focused on ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed and has designated numeracy and student mental health and wellness as division priorities.

Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following positions :

C2324-53 Summer School Teachers - Bonnyville, Lac La Biche, and Cold Lake

Northern Lights Public Schools will be offering students the opportunity to accelerate their high school program and to take courses during the summer.

Courses begin July 3, 2024 and end July 25, 2024. The hours are from 8 : 30 am to 3 : 30 pm Monday - Thursday with course delivery provided on site from identified Northern Lights Schools in each area.

Teachers start July 2, 2024 for a half day PM meeting and set up time. Last day for staff and students are July 26, 2023 which is also a half day AM.

Please indicate your desired location and the course(s) you would consider teaching. Please note that the final list of courses offered is dependent on sufficient student demand.

In previous years several levels of Math, Social Studies, Sciences, English, Physical Education, Work Experience and CTS courses were offered to students.

Reporting to the Principal, the successful candidates will :

Ensure effective planning, instructions and assessment for students in a Summer School environment

Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum

Interact positively and effectively with a diverse student and parent population

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications :

A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Previous experience teaching the assigned courses / subjects is an asset

The ability to achieve Alberta Education's Teaching Quality Standards

Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development
