Experience in the coordination of programming for students with special needs in an outreach education environment. Student-centred inclusive approach to instruction and teacher-student relationships.
Ability to design, program, and implement instruction for students with special needs. Supporting students to increase independence, enhance self-esteem and improve social / interpersonal skills.
Experience with the Leader in Me Program / Philosophy. Ability to process and manage confidential records. Ability to work with parents, social agencies and support organizations.
Effective organizational and classroom management skills. Successful experience working with students with a broad spectrum of learning needs.
Recognize the importance of making strong and positive connections with students inside and outside of the classroom in the larger school culture (ie : clubs and teams).
Be a reflective practitioner. A strong Literacy and Numeracy background. A willingness to work with parents, social agencies and organizations.
Strong collaborative team player and a positive staff member. Experience with Google Suite Programs is required.
