Overview
This is a temporary position (up to 35 hours a week) from approximately June 29th to September 7th. Priority for interviews will be given to current and returning staff. Interviews for new applicants will follow.
Provides aquatic leadership program instruction for National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor, Swim Instructor, Assistant Instructor, and Standard First Aid and CPR-C courses.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and conduct safe aquatic leadership programs, including National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor, Swim Instructor, Assistant Instructor, and Standard First Aid and CPR-C courses.
- Ensure compliance with Ontario Health Regulations and all relevant legislation and policies.
- Maintain and store equipment properly, ensuring it is operational.
- Evaluate and certify participants' performance, keeping accurate records of attendance and progress.
- Communicate participants' performance and progress effectively.
- Support the program with necessary tasks, including reports and records.
- Respond to aquatic emergencies using safety and rescue equipment.
- Consult with superiors regarding exceptional situations, such as dealing with difficult customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience
3 months of related experience.
