Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Director of Maintenance Services, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination, direction and control of all maintenance activities, execution of repairs and preventive maintenance required throughout the Centre.
Other activities include preparing reports and estimates, performing routine inspections, supervising and training shop staff in the operation, repair and preventive maintenance of building systems, and scheduling of staff.
Experience
- Minimum of seven years’ experience as an electrician, with at least five years’ experience in a recognized management capacity.
- Electrical building systems including, but not limited to, normal and emergency power systems, electrical equipment switchgear, distribution, transformation and monitoring, uninterruptible power systems, emergency power generation, distribution and transformation, clock systems, and other specialty building electrical and life support systems, required.
Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Electrical Technology Diploma and eligible for registration with the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) or a Manitoba Journeyman Electrician license required.
Certification / Licensure / Registration
Eligibility for registration with CTTAM required or a Manitoba Journeyman Electrician license required.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have or be able to acquire within a reasonable period of time a thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions and regulations applicable to the area of supervision.
Physical Requirements
Visual and aural acuity and manual dexterity required.
