About the Position :
The Jr. Construction Project Manager / Project Manager will play a key role in planning, scheduling and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on-time to the required high standard of quality. In this role you will assist in the management of projects from conception to completion, working closely with project management colleagues, clients, designers, and trades. The role will also be responsible all administrative tasks.
What You’ll Do :
- Prepare project schedule on Microsoft Project
- Prepare project cost summaries
- Complete inventory control and tracking reports
- Manage all project documents such as : close out documents, contracts, Pos, Cos, RFI
- Work closely with the accounting / AP department to ensure all invoices, purchase orders and invoices are accurate, financial tracking
- Assist in obtaining permits and licenses as needed
- Ensure Health and Safety polices are followed at all times
- Closely monitor job costs with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure budgets are met
- Prepare contracts, work orders, subcontract agreements, and statements
- Prepare project status reports, including updated cost projects and schedules for project review
- Assist in the detailed review of construction drawings and specifications
- Maintain site files, supplies, equipment and services as needed
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of sites and office
- Keeping a daily log of site activities on the project including but not limited to : all trades and number of personnel / trades, description of work, weather, safety hazards or issues
- Maintaining professional conduct and a good working relationship at all times with owners, trades, supplies, team members and tenants
- Receiving, tracking and inspection of site purchases and materials
- Support cost control, proper coding and management project within budget
- Review and analyze quotes with emphasis on obtaining the best prices in the market
- Ad hoc projects as required
Minimum Qualifications :
2+ years in a project coordinator role2+ years of administrative support in the construction industryProficiency in Excel is requiredExpertise in AutoCAD is considered a strong assetExperience with Microsoft Project is considered an assetEducational background in : construction management, architecture, engineering or a related fieldKnowledge of construction management processes, means and methodsKnowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standardsSolid understanding of the construction processOutstanding attention to detailAble to look ahead, plan and see the big pictureEffective time management, multitasking and logical decision-making skillsA teamwork approach to all aspects of the workWilling to take on training, learn new skills and grasp development opportunitiesAbility to work independently and as a teamValid driver’s license and access to a car is an assetAbility to exercise independent judgement and innovationAbility to address and resolve conflicts and disagreements immediatelyProven exceptional organizational skillsSAP experience an assetPMP designation or working toward designation is considered an asset
