Control Systems Engineer - Project Lead

We are currently seeking a Control Systems Engineer - Project Lead to join our team of experienced professionals located at our office in Kitchener, ON.

Working with other highly motivated Engineers, you will be involved with designing, programming, integrating, troubleshooting, and supporting new and existing automated controls systems.

Responsibilities may include:

• Control System design
• PLC Programming
  
• Electrical design review
• Design of Human Machines Interfaces (HMI)
  
• Troubleshooting of electrical, PLC, and HMI systems
  
• Interfacing with real-time database applications to manage critical production information
  
• Supporting project proposals and estimation
  
• Reviewing customer documentation
  
• Preparing functional specifications
• Creating schedules
• Training new team members
• Assisting with equipment selection and procurement
• Site commissioning and installation
• Performing other duties as assigned by Project Manager

Qualifications Required:

• Ability to problem solve
• 3+ years working with PLCs (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, etc) is required
• Experience with Ladder Logic is required
• 2+ years experience leading controls engineering teams is required
• Knowledge of HMIs (e.g.Ignition, FactoryTalk View)
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Understanding of industrial environments
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to mentor and guide others
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure
• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems design, Automation, Industrial Engineering or College equivalent
• Ability to complete all security clearance requirements that may be required for the performance of the work · Ability to obtain a TN visa for working in the US (check eligibility here)
• Willing to travel up to 40% throughout the year
