The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world's leading research centers in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental health and substance use challenges. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated care.

Reporting to the Research Manager and Principal Investigator, CAMH is currently seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Analyst to support a 5-year research study in youth and adolescents with mental health multimorbidity. This project aims to provide a deeper understanding of the trajectories of youth seeking mental health care as they navigate key transition points in their development. This goal will be achieved by including sampling from a diverse range of clinical services, standardized data collection and deep phenotyping of select clinical cohorts of youth (aged 11-25 years) and will support modular clinical trials.

The Research Analyst will be primarily responsible for scheduling human participant interviews, recruiting and screening research participants, leading the informed consent process and administering structured diagnostic interviews, clinical scales and cognitive testing. The Research Analyst will also assist with scheduling other procedural visits and will accompany participants to these visits. The Research Analyst will be responsible for preparing and maintaining participant study records and documentation, data entry and database maintenance, preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers, and other administrative duties as required. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable CAMH policies, as well as all regulatory and legislative requirements. This position requires evening and weekend shifts and is primarily located at the 1001 Queen Street site, with travel between sites, as required.

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or neuroscience combined with one (1) year of relevant clinical or research experience with youth, young adults and / or families with mental health challenges. Previous experience in administration of neuropsychological assessments (e.g., Wechsler, NIH Toolbox), structured diagnostic interviewing (e.g., KSADS-5, SCID-5), and clinical rating scales (e.g., RCADS-25) is required. Previous experience in screening, recruiting, and leading the informed consent process with research participants is required. Previous experience with neuroimaging (e.g. MRI) and handling specimens (e.g. blood, urine) is an asset. Previous experience with mobile sensing data collection methods is an asset. Candidates will also have demonstrated ability to maintain large databases and use electronic data capture methods (e.g. REDCap) and will have literature review and synthesis skills. Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and database software packages is required. The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential. Demonstrated communications skills (both oral and written) are required as is the ability to explain complex issues in plain language. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, the ability to exercise initiative and good judgment, and be able to meet deadlines while working independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will also have the ability to multi-task and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French / English) and / or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

This full-time, contract (12 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.
