Senior Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing cost data, improving financial performance, and ensuring accurate cost reporting to support business decisions.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, systems, and processesPrepare cost variance and trend analysesAnalyze estimated costs within BOMsReconcile perpetual inventory records with general ledger and physical countsEnsure accuracy of WIP, scrap, rework, and inventory adjustment transactionsIdentify slow-moving/obsolete items and recommend actionsMonitor inventory valuation using the weighted average costing methodReconcile off-site inventory balances Review jobs for accuracy and completenessCalculate and regularly update applied DL and OH rates Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficienciesAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planningCollaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reportingEnsure compliance with accounting principles and company policiesQualifications:Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA certification (preferred but not required)5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturingStrong knowledge cost accounting principlesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively interact with all levels of the organizationResolve issues with a win-win perspectiveStrong organizational and time management skillsRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
