Overview and Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Decision Support Manager, the Senior Decision Support Analyst serves as the technical authority for Schroeder Ambulatory Centre’s (SAC’s) Meditech data and analytics architecture, responsible for building, validating, and maintaining the organization’s decision support foundation. The incumbent will work towards ensuring the accurate, secure, and automated extraction, transformation, and reporting of clinical, operational, and financial data to support regulatory compliance and executive decision-making. Senior Decision Support Analyst will also translate strategic objectives into high-integrity data structures and provide the core technical infrastructure that enables enterprise reporting, analytics, and a culture of data-informed decision-making.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
- Serve as the technical authority for the Meditech Data Repository (DR) and Business and Clinical Analytics (BCA) module
- Design, write, and optimize complex T-SQL queries to build automated extraction pipelines for internal reporting and mandatory external submissions
- Map clinical workflows to Meditech Expanse data structures to ensure source-to-target accuracy across reporting outputs
- Act as the primary BCA Dataset Creator, developing and maintaining custom datasets to support organizational dashboards and self-service analytics
- Validate Meditech BCA dashboards and reports against EHR data to ensure accuracy and alignment with Ontario reporting standards
- Develop and maintain standardized data models, schemas, and master mappings to support a single source of truth
- Build, automate, and maintain executive and operational dashboards using Meditech BCA and business intelligence tools
- Support CIHI, Ministry of Health, and Ontario Health reporting requirements by producing accurate, timely, and auditable datasets
- Engineer automated validation scripts to identify and correct data errors (e.g., missing diagnosis or intervention codes) prior to submission
- Partner with the Decision Support Manager, Privacy Leads, and Meditech Super Users to troubleshoot data issues and resolve anomalies
- Support data governance by implementing secure access controls and adhering to privacy and data security standards
- Participate in audits, data quality reviews, and validation exercises as required.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, company Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelinesAdhere to data governance, privacy, and security standards when accessing, extracting, and reporting informationSupport organizational audits, regulatory reviews, and accreditation processes through accurate and validated data outputsSkills & Qualifications :
University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, or a related fieldMinimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in data architect or senior analyst roles, preferably within a Meditech environmentDemonstrated expertise in T-SQL, relational database design, and data modelingProficient in using universal SQL clients (e.g., DBeaver)Strong working knowledge of Meditech Data Repository structures and schema navigationTechnical understanding of CIHI abstracting and coding standards (e.g., NACRS)Familiarity with the Wait Time Information System (WTIS)Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholdersStrong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslySuperior interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentDemonstrated decision-making ability for daily tasks within established guidelines and proceduresProven ability to work independently on moderately complex projects with minimal supervisionAbility to exercise discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential information, maintaining confidentiality at all timesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement effective outcomesComputer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Meditech Expanse (Data Repository and BCA module) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)Other : Professional certification in SQL Server Management or Meditech-specific technical training is considered an assetSatisfactory passing of a criminal record check / vulnerable sector checkProvide proof of Immunization and TB recordsJoin Our Team : Schroeder Ambulatory Centre is a non-profit medical facility dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Ontarians through accessible, outpatient healthcare.
