Human Resources Generalist

Responsibilities
Training & Development : Identity training and development needs and design, develop, implement, and oversee training programs.
Ensure training complies with applicable regulations. Liaise with departments to manage and assign training programs.
- Full Cycle Recruitment : Provides proactive full-cycle recruiting support by anticipating manager’s needs : update job descriptions, write ads and post open positions, screen, evaluate and recommend applicants for interviews, participate in interviews and assist in identifying the suitable candidates, draft offer letters for new hires, check applicant references, and conduct a security check on the candidates, finalize job offer in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide advice and guidance / assistance to management and employees on matters related to Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure fairness, consistency, and efficacy, legal and regulatory compliance, all the while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Liaise with payroll for resolution of managers / employee questions, policies and procedures, benefits and compensation issues for internal and external customers
- Work with department managers to update existing and develop any new job descriptions required and ensure that these are uploaded into Compliant Pro to be reviewed moving forward on an annual basis.
- Produce Monthly / Quarterly Reports for the Executive meeting so that it captures HR activities that have occurred during the defined period and report out on established metrics.
Maintain and compile statistical reports concerning employee-related data such as metrics, demographics information, turnover rate by the department and its cause, recruitment time and costs etc.
- Manage data and report generation through our HR / Payroll HRIS / ATS system Dayforce / Ceridian Software.
- Manage the coordination of the Annual Performance Management Process.
- Support the department in communicating and implementing HR programs and initiatives. Work with other internal resources to ensure successful implementations of approved enhancement projects and changes, i.
e. enhancement to our internal systems, creation of workflows (new hires, departures, leaves etc.)
- Prepare termination letters and severance packages and participate in termination meetings.
- Create an open and cooperative work environment by facilitating and promoting active and constructive communication at all levels of the company.
- Embrace and proactively support the company’s culture and maintain a positive employee relations climate
- Participate in ongoing projects targeted at making HR better, faster smarter.
Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements :
Work Experience :
- 6+ years of progressive experience in a Human Resources Generalist position(s)
- 2 years’ experience actively using an HRIS system; experience with Ceridian’s Dayforce is an asset
Skills and Competencies :
- Knowledge of HR policies / procedures, recruitment and selection, including behavioural interviewing techniques
- Knowledge of HR best practices and regulations, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Legislation and Healthy and Safety
- Demonstrates sound judgment and problem-solving skills in resolving HR matters
- Shows tact, diplomacy and discretion in handling information of confidential and / or sensitive nature
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships and demonstrate a professional presence
- High level of customer focus and service orientation
- Successful in managing multiple projects and competing priorities, able to allocate time effectively to meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with high standards for quality of deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with effective presentation skills and proficiency in business writing
- Computer Skills Fluent in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook and familiar with HRIS systems
- Travel Travel will be required within Canada at approximately 5%
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to work extended hours when required
Education :
- Bachelor’sor Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or other relevant discipline
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) certification is an asset
