Applicants must hold a degree in Computer Science or related field; a will be considered an asset. In keeping with our technology-enhancedlearning environment, Ontario Tech seeks faculty members who will explore anddevelop effective pedagogical applications of technology in Computer Scienceeducation.
The successful applicant willbe expected to strive for teaching excellence, which can include somepedagogical research. The ComputerScience program at Ontario Tech aims to provide students with experiential,active and knowledge-based learning experiences.
Teaching responsibilities will include the deliveryof undergraduate, lecture-based courses; they may also include the developmentand oversight of hands-on labs.
In addition, the successful candidate willcontribute to the growth and development of Faculty of Science programs byparticipating in committees, helping to develop and / or support EDI initiatives,and engage in other activities in support of the Faculty and Ontario Tech.
The candidate is expected to have skills inthe integration of technology into teaching to model those skills in their ownteaching in the university’s web-centric and mobile learning environment.
Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to follow a 70% Teaching, 20% Service,and 10% Other Commitments workload each year.
This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty Association.
The collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
