Plant Controller
Ensure the financial statement integrity and internal controls of the Building Envelope lines of businesses. Partner with the LOB management to provide timely and accurate data to support business decisions such as sourcing, pricing, and long range planning. Participate in cross-functional teams throughout CT and SGC.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy of plant financial statements
- Drive plant profitability and growth through ownership of the financial analysis
- Manage timely completion of the plant’s month-end financial close for physical / virtual warehouses
- Demonstrate awareness of all elements of a location’s financial statements
- Own all elements of a location’s financial statements
- Prepare all post-closing location financial analysis, performance reports and commentary
- Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the location level
- Prepare, maintain, and analyze product standard costs and profitability
- Support the analytical needs of the plant manager and staff
- Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability
- Prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions
- Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions to location issues
- Ensure compliance with SGC and EPG policies and procedures
- Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory
- Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests including DAC
- Track capital spending and capital project closures
- Track / review cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting
- Ad hoc analysis
- Participate in plant staff meetings
- Involve in and support plant review meetings
- Lead financial / spend reviews with plant staff
- Identify and manage process improvement initiatives
- Perform cost reduction monitoring, reporting, and result auditing
- Inventory verification and control during month-end closing
- Prepare journal entries for SSC posting
- Conduct analysis of financial results and account reconciliations
- Prepare month‑end reports and manufacturing variance analysis
- Conduct location financial review including Building Envelope and Roofing businesses
- Analyze SG&A and investigate unusual charges
- Analytically review and challenge the budget and all assumptions
- Prepare budget presentation for BE and Roofing businesses
- Coordinate and support annual self‑assessment review
- Support IAS audit activities, coordinating plant responses and follow‑up
- Coordinate and support annual fixed asset desk review and tri‑annual fixed asset audit
- Prepare and maintain product profitability analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferable or equivalent, complementary work experienceMinimum 3 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. A strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and GAAPStrong analytical skills are required to quickly grasp issues impacting the business’s financial resultsStrong IT aptitude to deliver effective desktop reporting (paperless web‑enabled environment), utilize business warehouse tools, SAP and MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentationsExcellent communication and presentation skills are requiredCapable of leading a process team and able to define clear vision, goals, and service standardsAbility to manage projects, work independently, and communicate effectively to all areas and levels of the locationExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across business and functional organizationsDemonstrated client service orientationThis position will need the capacity to meet the needs of a complex, diverse, dynamic and fast‑paced organization that will pose a wide variety of challenges from a business level. This position must answer these challenges quickly and accurately, keeping in mind the requirements from GAAP & IFRSWork Location and Schedule

Base salary range $90,000–$115,500 per year. Eligible for an annual bonus (target 18% of base salary).
