On behalf of our multinational client, a plastics manufacturer, we are actively looking for a Maintenance Team Lead for one of their locations in south Woodbridge (Highway 27 & Highway 7 area).
This will be for an afternoon shift : Tuesday Saturday 2 : 00 PM 10 : 00 PM.
SUMMARY
To lead the maintenance group in making sure that the production and building equipment function safely, have the maximum uptime, and highest level of quality products.
To constantly work on reducing the unexpected down time of production lines; plan and perform preventive maintenance; and making sure the assets are kept at the most efficient and effective level of operations.
Oversee the housekeeping, 5S, maintenance and lean manufacturing activities to guarantee a world class level of customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Willing and able to know, practice, promote, train, communicate, enforce, audit, and report all health and safety company’s policies and procedures.
- Fix production and building equipment to make sure they operate safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining high level of equipment uptime.
- Keep the work area clean, free of debris, implement housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Coordinate PM, spare parts, repair and rebuild of machine components
- Perform repair duties during unexpected downtime, preventive maintenance.
- Able and will to train other maintenance personnel in keeping the plant producing safely and efficiently.
- Able and willing to train production, shipping, and compound employees to do their job when needed.
- Work with the maintenance supervision to create and maintain a critical spare part list.
- Being able to call, plan and oversee service providers and vendors work;
- Able and willing to be cordial with vendors, production, maintenance and the compounding employees.
- Ability to lead other maintenance and contractor to make sure they are safe and productive.
- To cover for maintenance personnel and supervisors if needed.
- Assist with other jobs in the maintenance department.
- Other duties as needed and request by supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a strong electrical background with 309A or 442A license or Electrical education
- Strong knowledge of millwright is an asset
- Good communication skills
- Team player, strong interpersonal skills
- Required certifications (working at heights, forklift certificate, etc.)
- Working Tuesday thru Saturday. Regular hours are 2pm to 10pm.
- Able and willing to put overtime after hours, on weekends, holidays, and as needed.
