Primary Duties
The Senior Project Manager, Transit focuses on project management, delivery, people leadership, and business development within the transit market sector.
Project areas include delivery of passenger rail services for railroads and transit agencies across Canada. The role requires understanding design standards and preparing contracts for various deliverables, coordinating construction services, and overseeing project risk and quality.
Responsibilities
- Administer the design phase from budgeting / schedule stage through procurement.
- Manage a multi-discipline design team to produce high quality deliverables, meet schedules, and stay within budgets.
- Coordinate construction phase services for both design-build and design-bid-build projects.
- Provide oversight of projects, programs, and teams.
- Direct the consultant team and ensure delivery to client satisfaction.
- Manage project risks and mitigate impacts to program performance.
- Build strong client relationships and ensure high quality deliverables.
- Represent the consultant team at meetings and address client issues.
- Assist clients with permit applications, property requirements and approvals.
- Respond to clients in a timely manner.
- Monitor staffing needs and gaps, mentor junior staff, and report performance to senior management.
- Incorporate lessons learned into projects and support business development and proposal activities.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP certification is an asset.Experience on rail and transit projects, including TTC, Metrolinx, and Translink.Strong communication, listening, leadership, and organization skills.Ability to handle multiple assignments.Command of Revit, AutoCAD, and sketch-up knowledge.Client relationship skills and marketing experience with rail / transit clients.Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6, MicroStation or AutoCAD.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.10 of related experience.Minimum 5 years of project management experience.Professional Engineering license applicable in the location.Experience with MS Office and MS Project.Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.Commitment to an employee-owned culture.Location & Terms
