Industrial Rescue Technician Our client, in the Saint John area is looking for motivated individuals to join their teams as Industrial Rescue Technicians.

They are an industrial rescue training and service provider. They manage numerous contracts providing emergency response and rescue services, as well as support personnel and program support throughout the Maritimes.

As the Industrial Rescue Technician, you would be providing standby confined space and high angle rescue services to their clients on a variety of industrial jobsites.

Please note that the initial week of training is unpaid training. What we offer

  • $20 an hour
  • 40 to 60 hours of work per week
  • 10 to 16 hour shifts
  • Monday to Friday (weekends are needed occasionally)
  • Day shift and Night shift
  • Overtime pay
  • On-site training (unpaid)
  • Work starts on May 27

What you do

  • Standby Rescue ensuring workers and work conditions are safe by overseeing the work
  • Radio Communications
  • Paperwork rescue plans, toolbox talks, field tickets, timesheets etc
  • Working at heights
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Other duties as required

Who you are

  • You live in the Saint John area : reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
  • You must have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to speak and read English fluently
  • Must consent to and pass a criminal record and drivers abstract
  • 1 year experience as a technician (preferred)
  • Firefighter experience (Volunteer or Career) is a huge asset
  • Comfortable working in ALL weather conditions
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time and assisting in rescues)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, always changing environment
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
