Position Overview :

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Machinist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of machines, including lathes, boring mills (both horizontal and vertical), and milling machines.

This role requires a strong ability to read blueprints, complete precise inspections, and generate dimensional reports. Additionally, the Machinist will assist in performing preventative maintenance on equipment, though the majority of maintenance tasks will be handled by another team member.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Machine Operation :

o Operate and run various machines, including CNC lathes, manual lathes, horizontal boring mills, vertical boring mills, milling machines, shapers, and planers.

o Ensure precise machining and adherence to project specifications.

o Utilize turning, drilling, and milling machines to achieve high-quality results.

2. Inspection & Reporting :

o Conduct thorough inspections of machined parts to ensure they meet dimensional specifications.

o Complete detailed dimensional reports and maintain accurate records of all inspections. o Identify and troubleshoot any issues with machined parts, ensuring the highest level of precision.

3. Preventative Maintenance :

o Assist in performing preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

o Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify potential issues and implement corrective measures.

Skills and Attributes :

• Proficient in CNC and manual machining, including lathe machining, vertical and horizontal boring, and milling.
• Strong blueprint reading skills, with the ability to interpret and execute detailed instructions.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to precision and quality.
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Patience and the ability to work methodically, even under pressure.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, carry, hold, push, pull, pinch, grip, and lift 40-50 lbs.

Work Environment :

• You will be working in a dynamic and accommodating workplace with a high volume of work.
• The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting, in a machine shop environment.

Qualifications :

A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a machinist in a related field is preferred.
