This role is a hybrid role that involves working closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure precise and efficient machining of parts while maintaining the highest quality standards. 30-40% of the role will relate to CNC programing and 60-70% of the role will be spent in CNC operation or drafting design work.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and write CNC programs using Mastercam for lathes, mills, and CNC routers.
Set up and optimize CNC machinery, ensuring programs run efficiently and produce high-quality parts.
Collaborate with engineering / drafting team members to interpret technical drawings and specifications - engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to create accurate machining instructions.
Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze and resolve CNC programming issues. Collaborate with machinists and production staff to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth workflow.
Make program adjustments as necessary to ensure part tolerances and specifications are met.
Organize and manage CNC programming files to streamline operations.
Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and maintain quality standards.
Set-up, Run & operate CNC machinery (routers, lathes, mills, manual machining) based on experience
Nice to have qualifications :
Experience working with a 3 axis CNC router.
Experience with a Dual Spindle Lathe
Ability to create, interpretate, and edit G-code.
Experience operating CNC routers, mills, and lathes in metal-mechanic and woodworking industries is desired.
Experience with CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Familiarity with multi-axis machining and complex part setups.
Knowledge of different materials such as metals, plastics, and composites.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques.
