HVAC Service Technician (Commercial)

HVAC with G1 Install & Maintenance

Our client located Durham Region, growing and is seeking to add another experienced, energetic, and highly motivated Gas Fitter 1 or 2 with their Refrigeration License (313A) to join their team to service clients located across Eastern Ontario.

Brief Overview :

Their team are experts in providing superior service & maintenance to their clients throughout Eastern Ontario. Their team is stable, supportive and extremely knowledgeable in commercial & industrial HVAC / HRAC, Refrigeration and Electrical Services.

Clients are almost exclusively in the Institutional or Commercial space located in many locations across Eastern Ontario and therefore, you’re only required to be in the office to pick supplies as needed or to attend meetings.

Detailed Duties of this Role :

• Represent company in a professional, courteous and customer service-oriented manner on each and every call
• Must have experience working with roof top units, split systems, gas fired heaters, MUA units
• Installation and repair of refrigeration piping
• Read, interpret, create and maintain drawings and specifications
• Overhaul and service air conditioning, refrigeration, heating units and systems
• Repair, replace and adjust worn or broken parts on condensers, compressors, and water and vacuum pumps
• Repair and adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heating, refrigeration and air conditioning units and systems
• Install motors, thermostats, and humidistats
• Correctly instruct customers on proper care and maintenance
• Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned apprentices
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all modern equipment and regulations
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation / regulations
• Other job duties as assigned

Skills, Abilities and Experience :

• Current Gas Fitter 1 or 2 with Refrigeration Certificate of Qualification
• 313A license
• Minimum 5 years HVAC / R service and sales experience with demonstration of excellent customer service skills, organizational, time management and great communication skills
• Knowledge of rooftop units
• Knowledgeable and skilled with tools, equipment, materials and practices of the trade
• Knowledge of applicable HVAC / R codes, standards, and regulations
• Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade
• Preferred HRAI Certification for HVAC programs and designs
• A valid, clean, and current provincial Driver’s License
