Psychologist - Lifemark Health Group Mental Health Program : Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS)

Lifemark is excited about our new partnership with Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), the national contractor for the administration and delivery of medical, psycho-social and vocational rehabilitation services with both interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams (i.
e., physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, vocational rehab specialist, case coordinators) and interdisciplinary mental health teams (psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists).
This offers a greater opportunity to have a more consistent approach to care that is holistic and integrated, improving experiences for both providers and participants.
The PCVRS work is one major component of this role; however, you will also be able to leverage your psychological competencies as a trusted subject-matter expert to apply evidence-based and process expertise to meaningful step-care mental health programs across the mental health continuum (prevention, monitoring and intervention).
You will find purpose in this role by :
- Engaging in psychological (diagnostic) assessments in order to identify diagnoses, level of distress and functional impairment and recommend treatment
- Providing psychological treatment for the more complex psychological conditions (anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, concurrent disorders) and psychosocial needs
- Working autonomously, providing 1-1 psychological services, and working within interdisciplinary Mental Health teams
- Providing supervision as appropriate to other psychologists and psychotherapists
- Providing consultation to other team members and management on clinical cases or practice dilemma
- Developing new mental health program content for the unique needs of various client groups
- Leveraging novel approaches to the delivery of mental health services, including adjunct digital therapeutics
- Bringing your unique assessment competencies to a range of applications, from pre-employment suitability assessments for high-risk occupations to diagnostic assessments to guide treatment and psycho-social resource building
- Consulting with other mental health service team members and clinical interdisciplinary teams
- Contributing to in-house training sessions and interdisciplinary case discussions
Education and licensure
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university
- Current registration in good standing with the provincial College / Board of Psychologists (competency with adult populations;
clinical (asset : counselling psychology, health / rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology)
Individual professional liability insurance required at time of employment
Applied experience
- Conducting psychological assessments with adults for various goals, including treatment planning
- Providing various evidence-based treatments grounded in cognitive-behavioral approaches
- Developing and evaluating mental health programs is considered an asset
- Working in interdisciplinary teams and with third party payers is considered an asset
- Utilizing telehealth / virtual care methods is considered an asset
