HDR is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to join our Transportation – Construction Services group to work on the Ontario Line Project. Reporting to the Project Manager / Construction Manager, you will help deliver two segmental bridges for the Don Valley Crossing project as part of Ontario Line. HDR is the Technical Advisor for the Ontario Line Program responsible to help deliver one of the largest ever urban transit light-rail infrastructure projects in Toronto.

Responsibilities

• Attend the project site, full-time, during construction to review progress and verify that construction works conform to contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Liaise with contractors and client representatives.
• Attend and lead internal and external meetings, as necessary.
• Review and confirm contractor-submitted shop drawings are in conformance with contract documents.
• Coordinate quality assurance reviews with the structural engineering team and other Subject Matter Experts.
• Prepare status reports, observation checklists, daily and weekly reports, and other quality documentation.
• Collaboratively work with a team of construction professionals, engineers, and technologists to complete daily field observations and document system assurance items.
• Mentor and oversee training of junior staff, as necessary.
• Promote and oversee implementation of health and safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
