Location : Ottawa (Hybrid)Our Petroleum client is looking to hire an IT Senior Project Manager, on a full-time permanent basis, to join their team in Ottawa.

This Information Technology Senior Project Manager will be the lead for assigned IT projects across the organization. This individual is hands on and will interact with our operational teams to lever technology and optimize how thepany does business.

We are interested in an individual who is looking to learn, grow, and be part of a developing Information Technology team.

Having an innate desire to explore new ways and discover how technology supports the business will be the key to success in this position.

Your New Role

• Participate in the management of the entire project lifecycle of the assigned project(s), from project initiation, execution, closure, and evaluation.
• Ensure projects are moving forward by managing time, scope, budget, resources, risks, and issues.
• Manage the challenges of scope creep and time slippage by staying on top of project issues and requests.
• Manage priorities and ensure all deliverables arepleted as per the agreed timelines.
• Build and maintain the critical relationships with project stakeholders that will ensure project success.
• When appropriate, challenge senior level management on budget, timeline changes, risk management, and scope creep.
• Build, organize and motivate project teams by managing daily activities and deliverables.
• Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process by developing testing plans and managing the progress.
• Ability to adapt to different roles that suit the stage / phase of the project.
• Document project status so all stakeholders are aware of progress and responsibilities with the project.
• Helping to transform and improve Project Management across our organization.
• Work with operations teams to identify initiatives to optimize software or hardware opportunities to improve how thepany does business.
• Prioritize initiatives to ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Lead discussions with existing or new software / hardware providers to implement solutions for initiatives identified.
• Lead the development of project and resource planning to implement any priority initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 5+ years of relevant IT Senior Project Management experience
• Retail or distribution for multi-location experience an asset.
• PMP certification.
• Excellent Englishmunication skills both verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to influence, negotiate and develop relationships at multiple levels, and across a wide spectrum of personalities and functions.
• Energizes and engages others.
• Demonstrated ability to present strategies and plans to project stakeholders.
• Proven project management skills, including balancing multiple tasks, highly organized, planning, ability to integrate, order and prioritize multiple streams of information, and keep things running smoothly.
• Prepares management deliverables (e.g. project plan, work plan, management reviews, requests for changes, outstanding issues and risks) and seeks approval when necessary.
• Exercise sound judgement and sharp problem-solving skills.
• Open to innovation and ways to solve challenges in a creative way to help advance organizational goals.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities / projects, meet deadlines, facilitate change and delegate responsibilities.
• Have experience with moving to the Cloud (Azure).
• Customer service experience, skills, and ability to handle pressure situations.
• Patient, personable, high energy, dependable demonstrating a positive attitude.
• Desire to take ownership of issues self-starter.
• Experience in a retail, transportation, and / or home heating environment would be an advantage.
