HDR is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer, Structural to join our Transportation – Construction Services group to work on the Ontario Line Project. Reporting to the Project Manager / Construction Manager, you will be helping to successfully deliver to completion of two segmental bridges for the Don Valley Crossing project as part of Ontario Line. HDR is the Technical Advisor for the Ontario Line Program responsible to help deliver one of the largest ever urban transit light-rail infrastructure projects in Toronto.

In the role of the Senior Construction Engineer, your primary responsibilities include :

• Attend the project site, full-time, during construction to review progress, and to verify and validate construction works are conforming to contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Implement established project verification procedures
• Liaise with contractors and client representatives
• Attend and lead internal and external meetings, as necessary
• Review and confirm contractor submitted shop drawings are in conformance to contract documents
• Coordinate quality assurance reviews with structural engineering team and with other Subject Matter Experts
• Prepare status reports, observation check lists, daily and weekly reports, and other quality documentation
• Collaboratively work with a team of construction professionals, engineers, and technologists to complete daily field observations and document system assurance items
• Mentor and oversee and train junior staff, as necessary
• Promote and oversee implementation of health and safety regulations
• Other duties as assigned.
