Are you a dedicated Alberta Certified Teacher with a passion for curriculum, early child development and team leadership?
We are seeking a dynamic Curriculum Coordinator to provide mentorship, coaching, and direction to our certified teaching staff in delivering exceptional early childhood programs aligned with Alberta’s Flight Framework while meeting Alberta Education’s mandates and e4c's mission.
Your Role :
As the Curriculum Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the mentorship and coaching of our certified teachers to elevate their program delivery by developing and implementing innovative curriculum initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure developmentally appropriate play-based individual programming that reflects the diverse needs of the families we serve.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities :
Curriculum Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement project-based initiatives to enrich classroom programming.
- Collaborate with teachers and multi-disciplinary teams to plan and implement a curriculum that meets educational standards and program objectives.
- Ensure adherence to Teacher Quality Standards and program evaluation processes.
- Design and execute assessments, evaluations, and reports to enhance program delivery and effectiveness.
- Support the development of Individual Program Plans and learning plans.
Mentorship and Coaching
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to teachers, practicum students, and volunteers.
- Facilitate Communities of Practice with Alberta Certified Teachers to guide best practices in curriculum development and implementation.
Administrative Support
- Work alongside managers to support the orientation of new teachers and ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and program expectations.
- Monitor classroom activities and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Support leadership in administrative tasks related to program evaluation and community development.
- Work closely with the Program Manager on Alberta Education’s mandates, funding schedule and requirements, and current best practices with early learning development.
Qualifications
Education and Qualifications :
Required
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- Police Check with Vulnerable Sector.
- Childcare First Aid and CPR.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Proof of vehicle insurance, registration, and 3-year driver's abstract.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in education or related field.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
- Training in de-escalation techniques and child development.
Experience :
- 10+ years of teaching in various school environments
- 5+ years of teaching experience, preferably with preschool-aged children.
- 3+ years of coaching and mentoring experience, including staff leadership.
Experience working with diverse families and children with developmental needs is an asset.
