Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche : $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 / 85.000,00$ - 110.000,00$ (per year / par an). Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's unique skills, expertise, individual qualifications, and assessed contributions to the role following the completion of the interview process. The range stated is the starting range for this position. Offers may vary with experience, qualifications, performance, and local market conditions.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and improve existing / new security technologies, processes and governance to effect a proactive security monitoring / d capability; support implementation and management of the organization’s Information and IT Security roadmap
Provide information and recommendations regarding network security and installations, and develop and maintain process and procedure documentation
Safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems while providing timely incident resolutions in alignment with departmental SLAs
Investigate and review alerts, violations and exceptions to security controls by conducting periodic audits and help close gaps identified by third‑party security audits such as PCI, vulnerability and penetration tests; determine when an incident should be escalated into the formal process
Provide security‑related out‑of‑hours and on‑call emergency support, as defined by the team’s operational procedures
Stay current with information security trends and provide threat intelligence for intrusion techniques, vulnerabilities and social engineering. Advise on applicable trends and recommend solutions
Enforce security governance by monitoring and administering security technologies (IPS / IDS, firewalls, DDoS protection, anti‑virus, server patching, web filtering, NAC, data loss prevention, proxy and E‑mail filtering, identity‑management system and tokenization)
Protect systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources
Work with external and internal auditors in the provision of evidence and remediation of findings
Administer access via identity‑management system : create, issue, and monitor user profiles, passwords, user security groups, AD, LDAP, Radius, two‑factor authentication and other system usage accounts and access codes; ensure proper authority, review, monitoring and reporting of those approving access to information resources
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications
Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
3–5 years of experience in network security, preferably in a retail organization
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and customer service skills
Possess relevant Cisco certifications
Be fully knowledgeable with practices and related tools for data centre management and IT operation functions (including ITIL, ITSM, and change management)
Have advanced technical skills for technology infrastructure management (including WAN, LAN, server, network management, telecommunications)
Advanced knowledge of TCP / IP, Fortinet firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, Cisco ISE, Windows Server technologies, Cisco switches / routers / controllers / access points / net scaler load balancers, Microsoft Hyper‑V / VMware technology
Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols : EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, STP, PVST, RSTP, EtherChannel, VTP, 802.1Q, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, NAT / PAT, TCP / IP, UDP, FTP, SSH, TFTP, SMTP, SNMP, ARP, MPLS
Experience working with private and / or public cloud environments (Azure) would be an asset
Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
