The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides mental health care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
They work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform psychiatric assessments and evaluations.
- Develop and manage treatment plans, including medication management.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling as needed.
- Educate patients and families about mental health issues and treatment options.
- Document patient care and progress accurately.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health; board certification as a PMHNP required.
- Valid nursing license and prescriptive authority.
- Strong clinical skills and patient-centered focus.
