JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION : Maintenance Planner
REPORTS TO : Maintenance Supervisor
LOCATION : Hamilton
Position Responsibilities :
- Principal contact for any work that is required and ensures constant communication with the requester.
- Communicates between all facets of a 24 / 7 manufacturing environment to schedule and prioritize all maintenance assignments.
- Craft labour estimates, ensuring all resources and parts are available before the work order is scheduled.
- Develop long & short-range plans including complete job packages.
- Ensure proper follow-up and close out of every job.
- Develop & analyze KPI reports
- Documentation control and analysis as it pertains to food safety, health & safety, security, and the environment.
- Work closely with the department to establish PM programs and predictive PM's, analysis of equipment history, and repetitive failure analysis.
- Development / implementation and review of PM checklist / schedule
- Review and plan preventive and corrective maintenance requests
- Assistance in the development & implementation of capital projects
- Estimate time and costs required for project executions
- Follow up on the Department's work order (Maintenance, Quality, H&S, Production, etc.) and validate planned timelines
- Bring technical support to the Maintenance teams, to ensure the optimization
- Create, analyze and update the Oracle system
- Participate in continuous improvement project teams, as required
- Identify and resolve problems, recommend improvements in the planning process and ensure routine schedules
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by ensuring plant is in accordance with governing practices, codes and regulations.
- Prioritize and schedule work backlogs by type and status
- Produce planned work schedules for Maintenance Supervisors
- Conduct follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion of required work
- Understand and practice all Health and Safety, GMP and Food Safety policies and regulations
- Other Duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & WORK EXPERIENCE
- Professional training or relevant post-secondary education
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance planning department
- Previous experience in a unionized food, beverage or packaged goods industry is a definite asset
- Solid computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and exposure to Oracle systems is an asset.
- Ability to communicate and work with all relevant associates, stakeholders and resources in a frequently changing and challenging environment
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
- Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented; strong organization skills with sound prioritizing abilities.
