JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION : Maintenance Planner

REPORTS TO : Maintenance Supervisor

LOCATION : Hamilton

Position Responsibilities :

  • Principal contact for any work that is required and ensures constant communication with the requester.
  • Communicates between all facets of a 24 / 7 manufacturing environment to schedule and prioritize all maintenance assignments.
  • Craft labour estimates, ensuring all resources and parts are available before the work order is scheduled.
  • Develop long & short-range plans including complete job packages.
  • Ensure proper follow-up and close out of every job.
  • Develop & analyze KPI reports
  • Documentation control and analysis as it pertains to food safety, health & safety, security, and the environment.
  • Work closely with the department to establish PM programs and predictive PM's, analysis of equipment history, and repetitive failure analysis.
  • Development / implementation and review of PM checklist / schedule
  • Review and plan preventive and corrective maintenance requests
  • Assistance in the development & implementation of capital projects
  • Estimate time and costs required for project executions
  • Follow up on the Department's work order (Maintenance, Quality, H&S, Production, etc.) and validate planned timelines
  • Bring technical support to the Maintenance teams, to ensure the optimization
  • Create, analyze and update the Oracle system
  • Participate in continuous improvement project teams, as required
  • Identify and resolve problems, recommend improvements in the planning process and ensure routine schedules
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by ensuring plant is in accordance with governing practices, codes and regulations.
  • Prioritize and schedule work backlogs by type and status
  • Produce planned work schedules for Maintenance Supervisors
  • Conduct follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion of required work
  • Understand and practice all Health and Safety, GMP and Food Safety policies and regulations
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Professional training or relevant post-secondary education
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance planning department
  • Previous experience in a unionized food, beverage or packaged goods industry is a definite asset
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and exposure to Oracle systems is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate and work with all relevant associates, stakeholders and resources in a frequently changing and challenging environment
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented; strong organization skills with sound prioritizing abilities.
