Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Air Compliance Engineer to join our Western Canada EHS Compliance Team, based in one of the following offices : Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :
- Support the growth of our EHS Compliance business in Western Canada.
- Assist EHS Compliance clients, projects, and pursuits, including Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification, emission inventory development and compliance reporting, and environmental assessments / approvals.
- Project management of Air, Greenhouse Gas, Odour, and Regulatory Compliance projects in Western Canada with existing and new clients.
- Fulfill the responsibilities of Lead Verifier under ISO14064 / 65 (or similar).
- Collaborate with junior, intermediate, and senior staff in all aspects of project work, including documentation review, emissions calculation, reporting, and verification / validation.
- Review, understand, and interpret provincial and federal acts and regulations.
- Compile, interpret, and evaluate data against relevant regulations.
- Prepare portions of technical reports.
- Conduct site visits and field activities for projects within and outside of Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
- Collaborating with GHD’s corporate EHS Compliance team on Air Quality, Climate Change, and Compliance projects, featuring over 80 engineers and scientists across North America.
- Provide support as needed on future energy and sustainability projects, including decarbonization, biogas, hydrogen conversion, and ESG
What you will bring to the team :
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; post-graduate degree would be favorable.
- 10+ years of work experience, preferably in a consulting practice.
- Professional designation.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, unit operations, heat and mass balance, with proficient hands-on data analysis, spreadsheet, and database skills.
- Knowledge or awareness of Alberta, BC, and / or Sask regulations related to air quality and climate change.
- Technical knowledge of ambient air quality monitoring and atmospheric dispersion modelling (AERMOD / CALPUFF)
- Technical knowledge and / or experience to support becoming qualified as a Lead Verifier under ISO14064 / 65.
- Experience with verifications under regulations in AB (TIER); BC (GGIRCA, CGIRP, CIIF); SK (SKOBPS); and / or Federal OBPS.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
