THE ROLE

The Barback works hand-in-hand with Bartenders by aiding them in bringing additional product to the bar, and keeping the bar stocked, organized, and ready for service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Restocking liquor bottles in accordance with daily requisition sheets
  • Assisting in prep work for daily service (i.e. cutting fruit, preparation of syrups etc.)
  • Stocking of items such as straws, disposable cups, napkins, ice and cleaning supplies
  • Work with bar team to ensure bar area is well stocked and Set for Success
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of bar area during service
  • Tending to emergencies on bar such as broken glass, clogged drains, spills and other unexpected messes during service
  • Removing and disposing of trash receptacles in and around the bar area
  • Help maintain cleanliness in fan areas
  • Perform any general cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor / manager to adhere to health standards
  • Complete closing duties, as assigned, including, however not limited to : Properly storing goods; restocking of items for next service;

proper disposal of empty bottles

  • Performing of additional tasks as needed and requested
  • Mop bar floor as needed
  • Assist with opening and closing inventory counts
  • Answer all guest questions and concerns with the help of your fellow employees as well as Ushers, Security and Blue Jays Sales staff
  • Work as a team by helping others where appropriate and / or when asked
  • Smile and give eye contact with every guest
  • Move all garbage / cardboard and empty beer bottles / kegs in an organized fashion
  • Any other duties assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

  • Minimum Grade 12 education and 1-year related work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of English (Written and Verbal)
  • Smart Serve Certification.
  • Wine, beer, and cocktail knowledge is required.
  • Emotionally mature, respectful, and sincere.
  • Well-groomed and courteous.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and remain calm under pressure.
  • Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and specifications.
  • Enjoy talking to people.
  • Guest service experience.
  • Team Player.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
