Position Overview

We\'re looking for an experienced Controller to establish and manage our financial operations as we scale. Reporting to the CFO, you will own our financial, tax and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial insights to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Accounting Oversight - Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory standards across all operations.
• Financial Reporting - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and collaborate with auditors on year-end reporting.
• Cash Flow Management - Oversee accounts payables, and expense reimbursements.
• Payroll - Oversee payroll providers and functions.
• Financial Forecasting and Budgeting - Prepare, present, and manage the organization\'s budget, ensuring financial stability and forecasting future financial needs.
• Regulatory Compliance - Stay current on regulations in the crypto derivatives space and ensure compliance. Work with both internal and external auditors.
• Internal Controls - Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, optimize efficiency, and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
• Tax Returns - Manage tax return filing processes in Canada and in the US.

Rails is committed to equitable compensation aligned with your skills and experience. We determine salary using verified Canadian market data, internal equity, and role-specific requirements. Expected compensation for this position ranges from $150,000 - $175,000 CAD .
