The Crew Management Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the crews aboard our ships are fit to complete their voyages.
His or her primary mission is therefore to ensure that Transport Desgagnés has all the qualified seagoing personnel to operate the ships in its fleet effectively and fulfill its mission, which is to be a first-rate ship operator committed to delivering exceptional, safe, and competitive service.
With aircrew being the cornerstone of this mission's success, the mandate of the Crew Management Department is of paramount importance.
More specifically, the Coordinator's main responsibilities are to :
- Coordinate the efficient assignment of crews on board
- Organize crew embarkation and disembarkation logistics
- Ensure the recruitment of the necessary resources on the ships
- Supervise and support the crews
- Contribute to the annual and ongoing training of the crews
- Ensure compliance of personnel certifications and collective agreements in force
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
- Work closely with Captains and Chiefs at sea, ship Superintendents and various internal and external partners
- Collaborate with the corporate HR department on various projects
- Visit crews on their boats
- All other related tasks
Working conditions
- Permanent, daytime position
- Flexible schedule of 37.5 h per week
- On-call weekend, 1 week out of 4 (scheduled remotely, so you can stay at the cottage if you wish )

- Your experience in logistics, transport, operations, aviation or shipping will be appreciated, but if you're passionate about shipping and want to learn, your application will also be considered.
- Enjoy working as part of a team on a daily basis
- Good knowledge of Office suite tools (Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of spoken and written French
- Knowledge of the English language : you must be able to interact with sailors of different nationalities both orally and in writing (intermediate or advanced level required).
