Position Information Position Number P01424 Position Title Vocational Instructor - Pharmacy Technician Division / Portfolio Health and Social Development Department / Program Pharmacy Technician Location Kelowna Other Flexible Work Options Remote Work (BC Only) Your Opportunity The duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include continuing excellence in one’s field, instructional and professional duties, professional development and service.
Functions and Duties Instructional duties may include any or all of the following; instructional (teaching assignments);
course and program preparation and revision; practicum placement and supervision; student contact; student advising; evaluation and marking of student work and other functions related to instruction.
Will be required to teach theory and lab classes, as well as supervise students in a variety of clinical settings.
Professional duties may include any or all of the following : curriculum development, student registration and pre registration duties.
Professional development is activity intended to promote teaching excellence, subject area competence and technical competence in the area of professional or instructional expertise.
Service may include any or all of the following; school visitations; participation on OC committees; attendance at articulation meetings;
representing OC at other function; administrative and other duties Education and Experience 1. A Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Pharmacy, or a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
2. Current active registration with the College of Pharmacists of BC.
3. An Instructor’s Diploma is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
4. Five or more years of relevant experience in an acute care pharmacy setting or a retail pharmacy setting.
5. Several years recent teaching experience is an asset. Skills and Abilities Candidates must be committed to a team approach, demonstrate good written and oral English skills and have good interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate will have an exceptional teaching record with demonstrated learner-centered teaching philosophy. Successful applicants will be an integral part of the team that will help Okanagan College realize the promise of a world-class college.
Candidates will be comfortable in a computerized environment and demonstrate knowledge of programs relevant to their discipline.

Remote work option (within BC) Annual Salary / Hourly Rate Salary range $71,846 to $115,129 annually; normal starting salary between $78,872 and $85,897 annually, dependent on relevant education and experience.
