Position : Social Services Assistant - (Canada Summer Jobs)
Hours of Work : 35 hours per week
Duration : 8 weeks
Reports to : Living Well Manager
Position Summary :
Provides support in initiatives, development and delivery of health promotion and recreational activities with seniors of various cultures
Responsibilities :
- Support with promotion and customer service aspects of the Health Promotion Program and Recreation teams
- Provides assistance in collection and record keeping of program participants
- Assists supervisor with event and recreational program planning using established safety and person-centered lens
- Assisting the team with administration duties
Education :
Post-secondary education in progress in Social Services, Recreation, Activity Worker or related fieldQualifications :
Work or volunteer experience with and knowledge of ethno-cultural and marginalized communities.Knowledge and experience with seniors is an assetExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.Ability to speak another language an assetOther :
