This role is part of our business unit working on original games. These teams focus on the creation, development, and maintenance of Behaviour-owned IPs such as Dead by Daylight and Meet Your Maker and other unannounced titles in development.

Midwinter is looking for a Technical Artist to join our talented team. We are a small team where the impact of your work will be felt in the games that we make.
As an experienced Technical Artist (Procedural Workflows and Generation), you will work in collaboration with art director, technical artists, engineers, and environment artists on procedural tools, workflows, and content generation. In this role you will :
- You will research and explore the potential solutions for content creation problems with art director and environment artists and explore the effective pipeline in pre-production.
- You will work with technical artists, environment artists, and engineers to convert prototype content into production in Unreal Engine.
- You will stay current with technical knowledge about procedural content generation and workflows.
- You will educate and guide artists relating to procedural content generation. You will communicate technical requirements for Unreal Engine and run-time procedural systems, workflows, and tools to serve our game creation goals.
- Help set technical standards and production processes to guide the team and ensure that their work achieves the visual target while also meeting performance standards.
- Work together with Tools and Rendering engineers to guide technology and tool development.
- Work with artists and designers to determine tool and workflow requirements.
What we're looking for :
- Expert in architecture of complex procedural content creation pipelines with a focus on artist / designer friendly workflows.
- Expert in procedural content creation applications such as Houdini and using these within Unreal Engine
- Creative, collaborative, autonomous, and flexible problem solver with an inclusive attitude
- Experience using and setting up Automation for content / asset processing.
- Understanding of performance and GPU rendering for creating optimized realtime content, lighting and materials.
- Experience with building workflows and tools through a full project production cycle (pre-production to shipping).
- Experience creating shaders for various assets including characters
