We're actively seeking a QA / QC Lead for our GTA & Pembroke operations, offering a dynamic role in driving program development across Nuclear and Commercial projects.

This role may require frequent travel outside of the GTA periodically (between Toronto, ON and Pembroke, ON).

As a QA / QC Lead , you will :

  • Lead the implementation of the Quality Assurance Program across Energy Division project sites, covering ICI, Commercial, and Nuclear construction projects.
  • Conduct inspections, adhering to the comprehensive work package, work plan, inspection & test plan, and implementing documents.

Prepare inspection reports as required.

  • Coordinate and lead field inspections with the Authorized (Nuclear) Inspector and the Customer, aligning with Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Ensure alignment, currency, completeness, and accuracy of field conditions and quality documentation.
  • Verify the quality-related qualifications of personnel and subcontractors.
  • Oversee internal and subcontractor field activities impacting quality throughout the project life cycle.
  • Verify materials control in the field, conducting receiving inspections as required.
  • Perform non conformance control at field sites.
  • Manage calibration and control of measuring and test equipment at field sites.
  • Interface with Project Management, Construction, Customer, Regulator, and Leadership in the field on quality matters.
  • Provide leadership and support for Corrective Action, Human Performance Program, and Safety Culture Programs, including statistical analysis of key performance indicators, causal evaluation, and trends.
  • Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical teams to ensure comprehensive QA / QC coverage.
  • Maintain adherence to regulations and standards governing quality assurance in the Energy sector.
  • Revise Quality Assurance governance (e.g. manuals, procedures, templates) as required.
  • Support the implementation of Plan Group software platform (i.e. Procore) as required.
  • Uphold and renew necessary certifications for continuous compliance.
  • Spearhead the implementation of new processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on experience leading inspections and quality control tests in the field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the nuclear industry, involving leadership in interactions with the nuclear facility customer, quality assurance leadership, and regulators on quality matters.
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, QA / QC, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to travel within Canada as required.
  • Applied knowledge of Nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N299, CSA N285.0, ISO 9001, ASME BPVC, ASME NCA, NDE, and CGSB welding, is an asset, with additional consideration for individuals with construction experience.
  • Certification(s) in Quality Technology or Quality Engineering (CQE), Nuclear Lead Auditor is an asset, with a preference for candidates with construction experience.
