Civil Project Manager

Salary $95-$110K
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee municipal and heavy civil construction projects from award through close-out. This role is responsible for planning, coordination, cost control, procurement, documentation, and client communication. Responsible for daily field execution and site supervision are led by the General Superintendent, Civil Superintendent (where applicable), Site Supervisors, and Working Foremen.
The Project Manager's role is to support field leadership, ensure projects are properly resourced, and maintain alignment with contract requirements, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Contract Management
Manage projects from contract award through close-outReview contracts, drawings, specifications, and schedules in detailDevelop execution plans in collaboration with Superintendents and Site SupervisorsIdentify risks, constructability challenges, and scope gaps earlySchedule, Cost & Financial Management
Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field leadershipTrack project costs, commitments, and forecasted variancesPrepare and submit progress billingsManage change orders, extras, and claims documentationReview and approve subcontractor and supplier invoicesProcurement & Resource Coordination
Procure subcontractors, rentals, and suppliersPrepare scopes of work and review pricingCoordinate delivery of long-lead materialsEnsure the field team has required materials, equipment, and subcontractors when neededField Support & Coordination (Non-Supervisory)
Visit job sites regularly to stay informed on progress and issuesSupport Site Supervisors and Superintendents by removing constraintsAssist with sequencing discussions and recovery planning when requiredEscalate field issues to the appropriate SuperintendentDocumentation & Reporting
Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and correspondenceMaintain accurate project records and document controlPrepare internal and client progress reportsSupport as-built documentation and project close-outSafety & COR Compliance (Shared Responsibility)
Support COR safety program across assigned projectsEnsure required project safety documentation is in placeWork collaboratively with the Health & Safety Coordinator (once hired), General Superintendent, and Site SupervisorsReinforce safety expectations but does not replace field safety leadershipParticipate in safety meetings, audits, and investigations as requiredClient & Stakeholder Communication
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, inspectors, and consultantsLead or attend progress meetingsCommunicate schedule impacts, changes, and risks clearly and professionallyRequirements
5–10+ years experience managing municipal or heavy civil projectsStrong understanding of :Earthworks, underground services, concrete, and restorationMunicipal specifications (OPSS, local standards; MTO an asset)Proven experience with :Cost control and forecastingScheduling and procurementChange orders and progress billingAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and contractsStrong communication and organizational skillsWhat's In It For You
