Your Team
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Finance, the Financial Analyst, Homes is responsible for supporting the Finance & Planning function for Alberta Homes.
This is done through preparing and consolidating monthly guidance and annual Business Plan for Alberta Homes and obtaining the supporting information to complete the process.
Your Key Deliverables
Maintenance of unit spreadsheets for actuals and working with operations to ensure the accuracy of the forecast for these numbers.
Support ongoing data management within financial systems such as BRP Insights, Vena & Rook.
Assist with monthly guidance as required for Alberta including preparing, consolidating and reviewing.
Work with operations to ensure accuracy of lot zero budgets and rates for Alberta.
Assist with the preparation of all monthly / quarterly reporting (Alberta).
Preparing sensitivity and scenario analysis as required.
Process improvement on guidance process and systems utilization.
Assist with forecasting enhancement projects & data management within forecasting software / tools (ex. NSE / Vena).
Support projects that leverage reporting tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency of forecasting models.
Work directly with Ops teams to obtain all inputs required for Calgary business plan
Preparing Alberta business plan DCFs in Vena
Roll forward of templates for the Business Plan process
Assisting with Alberta consolidated divisional and asset reporting, as well as BRPI reporting (City Level & Alberta)
Assisting with valuation / EVA & impairment analysis
Preparing schedules and compiling data for various presentations and management review
Quarterly actual results analysis
Supporting system conversion to Vena
Financial analysis on various operations related projects
Forecasting out future elimination entries based on continuity and lot purchases and ensure accurately ties to the numbers put forward by Homes and Communities
Support Operational, Financial, and System Oriented teams to complete additional projects as necessary when they arise.
Identify and implement process improvements as applicable
Must Haves
An undergraduate degree in Commerce, Accounting / Finance, (or equivalent mix of education and experience)
Interest in pursuing a CPA or CFA designation.
2+ years of progressively responsible related experience for a major or medium-sized company
Experienced Excel user
Strong attention to detail and proven accuracy skills
Strong organizational skills
Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Exemplary task and time management skills
Proficient in Word and Outlook
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify risks / issues and recommend solutions
Proficiency in planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting and building, understanding of financial statements, experience managing complex financial models
