The Dating Safe Program Coordinator will coordinate and deliver the Dating Safe program as part of our Youth Education Team.
This program provides high school students with the knowledge and skills they need to develop healthy relationships that are free from violence and abuse.
The role includes program and curriculum development, on-going research, assisting with program evaluation / reporting as well as the day-to-day operations of the program.
The role involves program administration, reporting, program research, assisting with program evaluation, and liaising with school / community partners, funders, the Dating Safe Program Supervisor, and Youth Education team.
The in-class delivery schedule fluctuates depending on the needs of the school and their semester schedules. Typically, the grade 8 modules are delivered within a 1-2 month period between October and January, and again between February and June.
Grade 9 and 10 booster modules are scaffolded into the delivery plan in subsequent years. The Dating Safe Coordinator would be responsible for delivery of the program at 1-2 new schools in the 2024-2025 school year.
What you’ll be doing
Program Administration :
Establish / maintain partnerships with new schools
Coordinate program delivery schedules with teachers and administrators
Consult with teachers on any issues arise during the delivery and strategize ways of supporting the students’ needs
Support the delivery and analysis of student surveys / feedback forms
Assist with funder reporting and organizational Board reports as required
General office administrative support including preparation of program materials for training and workshops, maintenance of program data / statistics, and assisting development of marketing collateral
Consult with the Youth Team to adapt program curriculum based on experience and ongoing research / learning

Some classroom setup is required (moving desks and chairs)
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of program participants (including managing disclosures)
Role model healthy boundary setting, vulnerability, and assertiveness
Appropriately and effectively manage classroom behaviours
Participate in Youth Team culture and provide support when needed
Communicate in weekly / bi-weekly meetings as a member of the Youth Team
Provide insight into the Dating Safe program to other staff members
Participate in pro-D, staff events, and supportive roles with other youth programs as required
Weekly communication with Dating Safe Supervisor about the status of the program at your school(s).

What you’ll need :
Must be at least 19 years old
Minimum one year of demonstrated facilitation experience (includes volunteer experience)
University / college coursework, degree and / or transferable in social work, youth work, psychology, education, or relevant field an asset
Knowledge of and experience of the theory, principles and practices in the areas of youth education, dating violence, trauma-informed practice, and violence prevention is required
Office administration skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and other Office 365 applications) and Google applications
Strong commitment to work in gender and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, anti-racism, and Truth and Reconciliation
Experience working with youth
Experience in community program settings
Self-driven, highly motivated, and organized
Strong leadership, communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment
A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required
Valid BC driver’s license and clean driving record required; having access to a vehicle is an asset
Current First Aid certificate is an asset
Successful applicants are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, exemption requests must be supported by valid, legal documents
Positions Hours / Details :
Programs will begin in September / October and run intermittent until the end of June, programs take place during school hours in various locations (e.
g. Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam etc.)
Must be available two of the following days every week : Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Pay Rate : $30.55 per hour
