Mostavio is building the future of advanced air mobility through the safe, all-electric, and autonomous development of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs and eVTOLs). Our mission is to transform aviation by solving high-impact problems with innovative engineering and bold ideas.
We are seeking a Electronic & Firmware Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of the avionics, embedded systems, and safety-critical electronics that power our next-generation aircraft.
If you are passionate about embedded systems, autonomous aviation, and building reliable electronics for mission-critical environments, this is your opportunity to shape the future of flight.
Key Responsibilities
As a Electronic & Firmware Engineer at Mostavio, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and validating the electronic and embedded systems that support flight control, power management, sensing, and vehicle autonomy.
You will collaborate closely with mechanical, propulsion, and software teams to deliver robust, certifiable, aerospace-grade hardware and firmware.
Hardware Electronic Design
- Lead the design and development of avionics hardware, power electronics, sensor interfaces, and control boards using STM32 or similar ARM Cortex-M MCUs.
- Develop schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts for flight-critical electronics.
- Select components, evaluate tradeoffs, and ensure compliance with aerospace robustness, EMI / EMC, and environmental standards.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to bring designs from prototype to production.
Firmware & Embedded Software
Architect, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for microcontrollers using C / C++ (bare-metal and / or RTOS).Implement drivers, communication protocols (CAN, UART, I2C, SPI), sensor fusion interfaces, and safety-critical control logic.Design redundant and fault-tolerant embedded architectures aligned with aviation safety requirements.Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, unit testing, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG / SWD, and other tools.System Integration
Collaborate with flight control, battery systems, and propulsion teams to ensure seamless hardware–software integration.Validate systems under real-world conditions including vibration, EMI, thermal environments, and high-current / power scenarios.Play a key role in avionics system architecture and safety-critical design reviews.Documentation & Standards
Produce detailed documentation, including electrical schematics, firmware architecture, ICDs, and test procedures.Ensure compliance with aerospace processes (DO-178C / DO-254 familiarity is preferred).Participate in design reviews and certification-related documentation efforts.Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronic or equivalent.3+ years of experience in embedded firmware development and electronic hardware design (aerospace, robotics, automotive, or other safety-critical sectors preferred).Expert-level experience with STM32 microcontrollers, HAL / LL drivers, RTOS frameworks (FreeRTOS or similar), and low-level embedded C / C++.Proven experience designing schematics and PCB layouts for multi-layer boards (Altium preferred).Strong understanding of :
