Our Brampton client, a stable family-owned company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the finance team.
Reporting to the Controller, you'll play a key roll in the day-to-day financial activities and success of the organization including payroll administration for 200 hourly employees.
Location : Brampton, On (fully on-site)
Salary : $65-70,000 / yr
Hours : Monday-Friday 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm
Day to Day Responsibilities :
- Prepare and maintain financial records including reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Perform accounts receivable activities including account reconciliations and payment collection.
- Process full-cycle hourly payroll including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Calculate and process payroll adjustments, retroactive pay and terminations.
- Prepare and submit remittances and other statutory filings.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Prepare and submit government reports and other compliance-related documents.
- Assist with external audits, budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for Senior Management.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records.
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and GAAP.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting regulations.
- Computer-proficient including accounting / payroll software and MS Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central is a plus.
- Superb attention to detail and accuracy.
