We have an excellent opportunity for two Senior Advisors to work alongside our engaged and dynamic professionals in the Operational Excellence team.
One full time, permanent position will support EPCOR’s Finance division and one full time, temporary position is open for up to 18 months in our Electricity Operations.
You use your strong collaboration and relationship building skills when working with peers in IT, Operations, Project Management, Finance, Business Development, Estimating and Engineering / Design.
Using strong leadership and interpersonal skills, you respectfully challenge the status quo and use critical thinking and decision-making skills to ensure projects comply with best practices and established methodologies.
This position may be eligible for EPCOR’s hybrid work program.
What you’d be responsible for
- Understanding the business processes, business systems, financial management acumen and data within EPCOR to develop innovative solutions that result in strong business performance and high customer satisfaction.
- Working closely with business analysts and the IT team to communicate functional system requirements and business goals.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing processes to find efficiencies and ensure compliance to policies, standards and customer requirements.
- Delivering specialized consultative, training and mentorship expertise to Operations Managers in the areas of change management, process improvement, re-engineering, process mapping, business analysis and implementation planning.
- Providing clear documentation to ensure the appropriate cross-functional team is involved, project scope and roles are defined, budget is identified and record management is in compliance with established standards.
- Leading and facilitating process redesign and improvement projects. Designing new processes, policies, procedures, work practices, tools and system requirements that require IT integration necessary to achieve performance improvement.
- Identifying strategic issues that may require resolution but extend beyond the scope of the redesign effort and any downstream effects that need to be solved before changes are implemented.
- Providing research, analysis, performance measurement or solution design to support redesign initiatives, ensuring that the project complies with established methodologies, meets process owner requirements, has high employee adoption and achieves the desired results.
- Assisting Process Owners with developing and executing change management plans for process improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring that processes are documented consistently in accordance with EPCOR standards and are integrated, work cross functionally and consider all downstream effects.
- Overseeing the management of information on SharePoint for access by all process stakeholders.
- Contributing to the enhancement of IT solutions through reviews of project performance, individual research and thought leadership.
What’s required to be successful
- Post-secondary training in Business, Engineering, Information Systems or a related area
- Certification or education in business process redesign (e.g. Hammer, Six Sigma)
- Certification or coursework in project management considered an asset
- An understanding of business operations, construction management, project management, competitive business models, accounting and innovative approaches for meeting customer requirements
- Possess financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and CSOX compliance
- Deep understanding of business process re-engineering, process improvement and redesign methodologies
- Understanding of metrics design and analytics
- Expert user of IS systems, databases and reporting tools
- Advanced skills in Excel with strong background in statistics and performance metrics for data analysis
