As a Researcher‑Programmer in the Science department, you will :
research, communicate and break down scientific and technical information in engaging, creative ways for audiencesshare your science knowledge when working with internal teams to create exhibits, programs and digital contentrepresent the Ontario Science Centre in media opportunities (radio, newspaper, online content and news broadcasts)consider diversity, inclusion and accessibility in your workcontribute to science themes plans, our digital interactive website and various partner projectsWhat you bring to the team
Knowledge of science, communication and research
specialized theoretical knowledge in one or more of the following fields : engineering and technology, astronomy, physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, geology, environmental sciences, materials science or equivalentcreativity and experience with communicating complex science through written or digital mediums, programs and exhibitsthe ability to engage with scientific experts, the academic community and government research facilitiespresentation, analytical, conceptual and customer service skillsCommunication skills
communicate creatively to turn complex information into easily understood applications for the publiccollaborate with project teams across the organizationeffectively connect with diverse audiences with varying skills levels in scienceadapt communications depending on the delivery format, including live streams, pre-recorded videos, live demonstrations and written materialsOrganizational and technology skills
