WECDSB Learning Support Services invites applications for the following Non-Union position vacancy :
Program Specialist
Reporting to the Executive Superintendent of Student Achievement K-12 and the Superintendent of Education- Student Achievement K-12, the successful candidate will work with school personnel, students and parents to support positive behaviour.
The successful applicant will be responsible for utilizing their behaviour and / or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) expertise to support multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate training and resources, and facilitate collaboration between service providers and schools.
Qualifications :
- Post-secondary degree or diploma;
- ABA expertise / behaviour expertise, comprising formal education, training and practical experience;
- Training in applied behaviour analysis principles from a recognized facility would be an asset;
- Experience providing and / or facilitating adult learning and training;
- Experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, in particular those that have autism spectrum disorders / behaviour disorders;
- Knowledge of the elementary and secondary education system in Ontario;
- Familiarity with special education issues, particularly those relevant for children and youth with autism spectrum disorders and behaviours;
- Excellent organizational and coordinating skills;
