Job description

Job Title : Junior Desktop Support

Location : Toronto, ON

Type : 12 month contract

Starts : As soon as possible

Overview :

Our client is seeking a Jr. Desktop Support resource to become a part of the Desktop Support Team.

Role :

  • Provide desktop support for users with their PC’s, laptop and BlackBerry issues
  • Repair / upgrade / support PC’s, Laptops and or Printers
  • Provide excellent customer service to users with issues regarding hardware or software issues within assigned time frames
  • Provide excellent customer service; patient, polite, courteous support in a patient and professional manner

Skills :

  • University or College Degree in IT (or equivalent, related working experience in IT) and A+ or
  • MCSE certification.

  • Excellent English language communications skills (written and verbal) with a professional, courteous customer service focus
  • 1 to 2 years of prior Desktop Support experience within a large Enterprise environment providing telephone, remote, desktop or deskside support (hardware / software support)
  • Ability to work within a fast paced environment and make frequent work re-prioritization decisions
  • Professional, outgoing and friendly disposition with reliable work ethic
  • Technical Skills :

  • Experience supporting Windows XP, Vista and Win7 with a good understanding of MS Office suite
  • Good understanding of basic TCP / IP protocol , VPN and WiFi technology
  • Strong Hardware break / fix experience (PC’s, Laptop’s)
  • Experience working with Lotus Notes (Ver. 7 or 8) would be a definite asset though training will be provided
  • Experience should be comprised of supporting and troubleshooting   hardware and software; capable of break fix support (hard drives, peripherals and exchanging or upgrading hardware and   new PC / Laptops
  • Experience creating imaging (using Norton Ghost or RIS or ImageX or WDS) on PC’s or Laptops.
  • Experience supporting Blackberry handheld devices; BES server support would be an asset.
