20117 - Mechanical Engineer - E4

This is E4 role but E3 engineers are also accepted.

The E4 Engineer is a professional engineer or geoscientist who applies engineering knowledge to provide engineering, estimating, planning, and quality management services for medium complexity projects and / or operations safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.

Responsibilities

• This role requires experience with the design of mechanical systems for hydroelectric utility generation stations and demonstrated experience working with utility design solutions a in an electric utility environment.
• This position is needed to help with an increasing Mechanical work load in capital projects, OMA work programs and Owners Engineer review work.
• Generation Mechanical systems
• The candidate(s) will provide engineering services to carry out mechanical projects within the company Generation Mechanical group.
• Prepare project documentation and deliverables in accordance with client project and Engineering Design Practices (i.e.
• evaluation reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, design basis, calculations, hazard logs, test plans);
• Prepare design work packages including scope, duration, and level of effort estimates;

Qualifications

Education and Skills

• A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or with another jurisdiction and eligible for registration as such with Engineers & Geoscientists BC
• Class 5 driver’s license in good standing
• Ability to travel across the Province for short and long term assignments
• Ability to find engineering solutions that add value and to reach consensus

Must have experience : Hydro Electric Turbine and / or generator installation or refurbishment experience

Nice to have experience : Welding inspection, precision measurements, Quality Assurance, Coating, Commissioning, unit alignment, piping
