Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay. Staff in this division have the option to contribute to the College Pension Plan, with standard contributions matched by the EmployerDescription:NLC's Early Childhood Education and Care Diploma students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work with young children and their families in diverse early learning settings in British Columbia. Students develop skills through courses designed to integrate academic and practical experiences. requires a temporary part-time instructor to deliver the following courses by video-conference from either the Dawson Creek or Fort St John campus:HDEC 102 – Health, Safety, and NutritionThis course examines methods of sound health, safety, and nutrition practices in Human Services and Education settings that involve the care and education of children from birth to eighteen years of age. Particular attention is given to the promotion and modeling of a healthy, safe environment through management and prevention of adverse situations.HDEC 103 – Guiding and Caring This course prepares students to guide children's behavior through caring, positive, and constructive practice that facilitates the development of self-esteem and social competency. Emphasis is placed on understanding how development affects behavior and the influence of other relevant factors (e.g. culture, environment, and children's needs). Prevention and intervention strategies are explored as well as the professional's role in guidance.NOTE: Classes are scheduled to take place between 8:45 - 11:40am. Travel between campuses will be required.
